About Industry 4.0
“Industry 4.0” term implies the 4th industrial revolution. The first ever revolution was occurred in the 1770’s. It was about the mechanization thru water and steam power. This mechanization thru steam power took the world towards gain in significant business and then electrical power and mass production got discovered. However, the second industrial revolution was about a growing significance of electricity and the mass production. In this era of mass production to overcome the problems related to the reliability and repeatability robots took place on the shop floor and hence third revolution started. Now, the third industrial revolution was about computerization and automation of the manufacturing systems which made human efforts easy but was not well organized. Gaurav Mithari
Director
Gaurav has close to 5 years of experience and drives the vision and strategy of OBI Ventures. He founded OBI Ventures to blend Software technology and Manufacturing to achieve true potential of Smart Manufacturing. Gaurav combines an expert technical knowledge with a real eye for solutions on problems.
Prior to founding OBI Ventures, Gaurav has worked with Cummins Power Generation, leading their Manufacturing IT Systems program for multiple sites around the globe. Also engaged in leading the Manufacturing, Capital automation and cross functional projects improving Quality, productivity and delivery on time by adapting to various working styles of people across different cultures. He has a B.E Degree in Electronics engineering from Walchand Institute of Technology, Solapur and an MS from Staffordshire University,UK and has worked globally across different countries.
